Membership Benefits

Joining the Ventura County Community College District Retirees’ Association (VCCCDRA) allows you to reconnect with former colleagues and meet other retirees with similar interests. Members are also kept informed of any VCCCD benefit changes. This is all done by means of an annual general meeting, social events, and a biannual newsletter.

SOCIAL EVENTS

The Social Committee creates events such as barbecues, dinners at restaurants, and meetings with refreshments.

NEWSLETTERS

The VCCCDRA publishes a biannual newsletter to share information and notify members of upcoming events and social occasions. We also offer members the opportunity to submit articles on any subject that they would like to share with other members of the group. These can be about health, education, leisure, hobbies, books, art exhibits, etc.

BENEFIT UPDATES

Our VCCCDRA Benefits Committee also shares vital information concerning our benefits. They offer information concerning Medicare, Navitas, and supplemental insurance programs that the District offers.

HOW YOUR DUES ARE USED

Where do your dues go? VCCCDRA revenue falls into two categories: operating (general) fund and legal fund. The operating fund is used for the general operation of the organization including mailings, newsletter printing, website and blog support, technology, and social events. The legal fund provides funds for legal support for the VCCCDRA. Expenses are reviewed and approved or denied by the Executive Board at each meeting.

The dues structure is as follows:

  • Annual $25 Membership Dues: $20 will go into the operating fund and $5 into the legal fund.
  • Lifetime $250 Membership Dues: $200 will go into the operating fund and $50 into the legal fund.
  • Sustaining Partner Membership donations: The division of funds between the operating and legal funds will be determined by the VCCCDRA Executive Board unless specified by the donor.
